Roommates, it has been about one month since Maleah Davis was last seen alive, and many questions have risen about her disappearance. However, it looks like we might be getting some answers.
According to ABC 13, the Houston community activist who joined Maleah’s mother in her fight for justice is alleging the young girl’s body was dumped in Arkansas. Quanell X told reporters he received this new information from the suspect in Maleah’s disappearance, her mother’s ex-fiance.
Quanell claims he met with Derion Vence, who claims Maleah’s death was an accident and did not specify how she died. Vence has been behind bars since May 11.
“All I can say is he told me it was an accident, and that she is dead and where he dumped her body,” Quanell said.
Quanell did not, however, disclose the exact location where the body was dumped. He said that Vence was specific about the “distance and time” of the body’s location.
“He said he pulled over in Arkansas, got out of the car, walked off the side of the road, and dumped her body off the side of the road,” Quanell said.
Quanell also added that he is confident Vence is telling the truth, despite waiting for a month to pass.
“I think it’s the truth. I don’t think he was lying to me. I think he was telling the truth,” he said. “Many men have confessed to this type of crime.”
Although these claims have not yet been verified, authorities reportedly believe there is enough truth in the details to move the search for Maleah to Arkansas.
We are still praying for the family, and hope that justice will be served for Maleah.
