Roommates, we are sending our prayers to the victims involved in the mass shooting that took place in Dayton, Ohio early Sunday. The shooting took place less than 24 hours after a shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, TX claimed the lives of 20 people.
According to CBS News, at least 9 people have been announced deceased, and the suspected shooter has also been announced as deceased. Dayton tweeted around 1am that there had been an active shooter, however, nearby shooters were able to “put an end to it quickly.”
During a press conference, Lt. Col. Matt Carper, said that responding officers shot the suspect to death. At least 26 others have been reported injured as a result of the shooting.
The shooter has yet to be identified, but Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley did say that the shooter used a “very large gun,” and also wore body armor.
A spokeswoman for Miami Valley Hospital did confirm that 16 victims had been taken to that hospital, but she could not confirm their condition. A spokeswoman from Kettering Health Network said that many victims from the shooting were brought to that hospital, but she did not disclose how many.
